The Church at Dahlonega is a church plant fellowship of Christian believers in Dahlonega, Georgia that seeks to model the ministry of Jesus Christ.  Starting as a Bible Study in a home with just seven people, we held our first public Sunday morning service on May 1st, 2005 with about 50 people.  It seems like only yesterday when we first started worshiping the Lord together as a church.  The church began in response to Pastor Paul's call by God to plant a church.  After many months of prayer and soul searching, Pastor Paul, his family, and financial sponsors agreed that Dahlonega would be the place to start.  Based on the demographic information and research obtained; it was determined that  a strong, theologically conservative, Bible based, community focused church was needed.  Our primary church sponsors were two of the most influential and credible churches in the entire Southern Baptist ConventionFirst Baptist Snellville and First Baptist Woodstock.  Financial support from these two great churches ended in early 2007, allowing God to show up for us in even greater ways.  God has supplied many miracles in the process; from moving people into our community and sending existing community leaders of influence our way.

Although the Church At Dahlonega is proudly a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, our focus is purposefully directed more toward our community rather than denomination.  Our desire and primary focus is to reach those who have never been introduced to Christ and those who are considered un-churched.  For these individuals, denominations may or may not convey a positive image for them.  For others, denominations carry no particular influence at all.  Consequently, we hope to attract  individuals that are drawn to a casual, comfortable, and loving atmosphere that worships God in spirit and places the inerrant, infallible, uncompromising truth of God's word first and foremost in their lives rather than a name or affiliation.

The Church at Dahlonega takes part in financially partnering with our convention and association.  Additionally, as part of a church tithe, we have percentages of our undesignated giving going toward partnerships with specific missionaries.  Our goal is to send a team out annually on short-term missions, as well as supporting another up-start church plant, while still focusing on the needs of our community.
